Plea Filed in Kerala High Court to Hold Medical Allotment
The plea has been filled to hold the medical seats allotment untill the SC gives final verdict on NEET
A plea has been filed in the High Court, Kerala on30-June-2016to hold the allotment of medical seats until the Supreme Court of India issues a final verdict onNEET. The CJI bench is supposed to consider the plea againstNEETordinance on1-July-2016.

Previously, the Supreme Court issued an ordinance to all the states to conduct BDS/MBBS admissions. TheCommissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE),Kerala has decided to go with the seat allotment process through KEAM rank list. Roja Srinivasan of Thrissur and Mahajabben of Malappuram have filed the petition againstNEETordinance.

The Supreme Court of India issued an order makingNEETmandatory on11-April-2016. Later Central Government announced that the state boards will be out of NEET rule. The petitioners who filed the plea want theHigh Court of Keralato direct CEE not to conduct BDS/MBBS allotment. The issue of NEET became a national wide issue in the last couple of months, where most of the state governments pleaded the Central government to cancel theNEETfor the current academic year. However, most of the state governments gearing up for medical seat allotment for the academic year 2016-2017.
