After receiving complaints and reports stating that the private medical colleges in Punjab have hiked the fee for MBBS, Department of Medical Education & Research (DMER) has directed the BFUHS or Baba Farid University of Health Sciences to complete the admission process for management quota seats as well. The move taken by DMER will ensure that none of the private medical colleges or universities charge more than Rs. 2.2 lakh per annum for MBBS course under government quota. In the same way, the cap for a management quota seat is Rs. 6.6 lakh per annum. Private medical colleges and universities must follow the fee structure prescribed by the government.
