Rajasthan Govt. to Set Up Petroleum University
Rajasthan government is planning to set up a Petroleum University in the state. The state government is also considering revision of syllabus and introducing courses in mechatronics engineering and automobile design in polytechnic colleges.
The Rajasthan Govt. is planning to start a three- year diploma programme in petroleum engineering at the Govt. Polytechnic College in Jodphur and is also in talks with the assembly to set up a petroleum university in Rajasthan.
Subash Garg, Minister of State for Technical Education informed that Rajasthan state government is also planning to revise the syllabus and start new courses in automobile design and mechatronics engineering in the polytechnic colleges of the state.
Meanwhile, the government is planning to come up with a new polytechnic college for women at the district level in the state to provide them with quality education so that they can build a career for themselves.
Rajasthan government has also started a choice based credit system from the 2017-18 academic session in Rajasthan Technical University , Kota.
The minister further informed that the Rajasthan government has signed several pacts with various educational institutes. The pact has helped students setting up over 13 start-ups in the past few years.

The Rajasthan Technical University in Kota conducted more than 180 training programmes for students to provide them with better employment opportunities. The proposed budget for the same was Rs. 1 crore for the 2018-19 academic year.
