RAMAN RADIO started at CV Raman University, Bilaspur

Established on 3rd November 2006, Dr. C.V. Raman University has established itself as a premier world class University in Chhattisgarh, and more importantly, in Central India as the Research and Education hub of Professional Courses ranging from diverse fields like Management, Arts, Science, Law, Naturopathy and many more. Located over a vast area in the backward region of Kota Bilaspur, the University has transformed the perception of Higher Education in terms of its quality and accessibility.

Established by AISECT Group, the sponsoring body, the University was named after the first Nobel Laureate of the country, Dr. C.V. Raman.

With quality education being imparted to more than 85,000 students, our principle goal is to develop a new cadre of Confident, Capable and Cultured professionals who are evolved in terms of a skill set and thus, are Work Ready from day one.

The community radio station of the University is named as ‘Radio Raman’ which is relayed on 90.4 M.HZ. The students will be taught the various aspects of Radio Broadcasting through which, the youth will progress towards their employment.

RAMAN RADIO

Ministry of Information & broadcasting has granted permission to CVRU to establish community Radio Station. This University will be the first in the State where students will be taught, educated, and youth will progress towards employment and a common man will woke up towards their rights, duties and liabilities through radio programmers prepared and broadcaste by CVRU.

After its establishment in University “ Radio Raman” has started on 90.4 M .HZ from the year 2012 and will commence its regular broadcast in a short while. It will catch to the community in 15.5 radius around CVRU campus.

In the real sense, community radio plays a pivotal role in making the masses aware about their basic rights and duties.Not only limited to solving problems which a common man faces in his day-to-day life, community radio provides him a strong plateform from where he can freely disseminate his ideas among his community members in the best possible manner Thus, community radio becomes one of the important instrument in strengthening our ‘Right to Freedom of Speech and well as entertaining local people, community radio also acts as an intermediary between the Government and the local masses,

This is the place from where local people can air their grievances to the Government as well as get the solutions to their problems too. Needless to say, community radio has played a major role in bridging the Communication gap between the Government and the local people.As, the community radio is still evolving it might be possible that in the near future, we will witness its various new forms which will be technologically more superior as well as userfriendly. Well whatever the case may be, community radio has proved to be one of the best Medium of communication at the grass-root level.

This means that community radio station will focus on getting the community talking and not solely on radio (which is a technological process); the social concerns of community radio will be stressed.
