RDW University Establishes Intellectual Property Rights Cell
RDW University Bhubaneswar has come up with an IPR Cell in the university that will help the university and its students to file copyrights and patent rights for creating a positive environment for research.
With the aim to look after the intellectual properties of the university, patents, and copyrights, the Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar has opened an Intellectual Property Rights Cell inside the university. It will be helpful to file applications for trademark, patents, copyrights, etc.
The cell will assist students, staff, scholars and outside agencies by spreading awareness and providing services for intellectual property registration, rights, and obligations under its IPR policy frame.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Padmaja Mishra informed that the university is taking initiatives to encourage research work and innovation among women. She added that the IPR cell will help them to copyright their research publications and patent their innovations.
The director of the Science and Technology Department of EDW University, Mr. Rashid Khan, who attended the inauguration ceremony said intellectual property rights play an important role in the research. This will not only protect inventions and innovations but will also help protect research.

A meeting was also held with professors and students on the improvement of IPR cell and its functions where everyone put forward their opinions on the matter to develop the initiative.
Mr Khan informed that the Science and Technology dept of the Odisha Government will help to felicitate it further. This will create an environment of research and innovation not only in the university but also across the states.
