Resources Available at SBJIT Library

The SJBIT Library & Information Centre was started in 2001 with an initial collection of 2500 Volumes. It is located at the New Independent block consisting of four floors, with a total floor area of 3100 Sqm, with good natural lighting & ventilation.

The library caters to the information needs of 6 Undergraduate Courses 6 Postgraduate courses, MBA & 5 Research Centres.

Resources available at SJBIT Library:

• Library to date has a total collection of 15,200 volumes of books with about 2,920 titles.
• 550 CDs/ DVD's/ Floppies provided with books as learning materials and 240 Journals/Magazines CDs / DVDs.
• 50 Project Reports.
• 30 Nos. of Dictionaries, Handbooks, Encyclopedias.
• 10 general Magazines & 11 Newspapers.
• 130 Bound Volumes of Journals.
• The library at present is subscribing to 60+ National and International Technical Journals & Magazines including IEEE & ACM Journals.

The following sections are housed in the Library :

• Ground Floor - Left Wing: UG Stack section where the books for circulation are stacked in a classified order with open access. The Librarian’s Chamber, Processing section
• Ground Floor - Right Wing: Digital Library & Browsing Centre
• Basement Floor - Left Wing: PG & MBA Stack & Reference Section
• Basement Floor - Right Wing: Seminar Hall cum Reading Room (Personal Study Zone)
• First Floor - Reference and Periodical Section
• Second Floor - Back Volumes and Project Reports

Library Service :

Reference Service

Library has a rich collection of books in reference section for its users. Previous year question papers, GRE, GATE & TOEFL Books, Dictionaries, Atlas, Encyclopedias & Handbooks are available for Reference.

Referral Service-

Students in need of depth & diverged information will be referred to use other reputed libraries like IISc, ISRO, NAL, IIMB etc. Our Library has taken the Institutional Membership of ICAST, NAL (Information centre for Aerospace Science & Technology, National Aerospace Laboratories).

Book Recommendation-

Students & Staff can recommend any subject books that are useful for their academics.

Reprographic Service-

A Photocopier has been added to Library for the benefit of users.

Circulation-

The Library Circulation System is Automated using Libsoft 9.0 Software. Barcoded ID Cards have been issued to all the Members.

Each Undergraduate student is provided 02 books & the Post Graduate students are provided with 03 books.

The Teaching staff members can borrow 08 books.

Students with distinction marks in their previous semesters are given one additional book.

A Separate Book Bank facility is provided for SC/ST Students.

Library is kept open on all working days except Sundays and general holidays

• Saturday : 8.30 AM to 12.45 PM

Working hours of reference section

• Monday to Friday : 8.30 AM to 8.30 PM
• Saturday : 8.30 AM to 4.00 PM
