Result of JoSAA 2017 Seat Allotment Round 1 Announced

Result of JoSAA 2017 seat allotment round 1 and counselling was declared by JoSAA on June 28, 2017. Candidates who had registered themselves for JoSAA counselling sessions 2017 can now check the result i.e. the seats allotted to them in round 1 online.
In order to secure the allotted seats, candidates will have to visit the reporting centre anytime between 10 am to five 5 pm from June 29 to July 3. Candidates have been given a time slot of 5 days to make the decision regarding the first round of seat allotment.
How to secure the seat allotted in Round 1:
- Download the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter from the official website.
- Download the E-challan in order to pay your seat acceptance fee.
- The seat acceptance fee is Rs. 45,000 for general candidates, whereas, all reserved category candidates will have to pay Rs. 20,000.
- Fee payment can be done either through SBI Net Banking or E-challan.
- Candidates must report at the designated reporting centres for document verification once the fee is paid.
- Candidates can only secure their seats if they have followed all the steps given above.

Seats have been allotted on the basis of the category of the candidates, rank secured in the JEE Advanced 2017 and the order in which student has opted courses. Candidates must copy the original documents and a set of photocopies of mark sheets, pass certificates, transfer certificates, etc.
It is essential to carry the admit card of JEE Advanced 2017 while reporting and seat acceptance. Candidates who have lost their original admit card can apply for a duplicate one at IIT in their zone.
A DD of Rs. 100 will have to be submitted in favour of Organizing Chairman, JEE Advanced 2017 payable at Chennai in order to get the duplicate admit card. The zonal IIT will send the duplicate admit card to the registered address via post.

7 rounds of counselling will be conducted by JoSAA for seat allocation in 2017, whereas, only 6 rounds were conducted in 2016. The allocation of seats will be done in online mode.
