Prakash Javadekar started with talking about how education is very important for a country’s sustainable development. He said there used to be a time when India was the best in education and had world class universities like Vikramshila, Nalanda and Takshila . People from all over the world used to come to India for education as it was the best. He also said earlier 35 percent of the total world trade belonged to India and 25 percent of the total used to be India’s GDP but now it is not even 1 percent and the reason and solution of the same is education.

He said that to make the higher education in India better we need to start from the ground level. We need to promote innovation and hard work from nursery class so children know that it is the best way to get quality education. In primary education, we need to inculcate and promote inquisitiveness in a student because that is the foundation of any new innovation.

Once the thirst and need for innovation are present in student's mind then it is the government’s responsibility to provide the facilities for research, innovation and improvement of quality at higher education level.

He talked about how the government is coming up with initiatives like Make in India. Startup India, Uchchatar Avishkaar Yojana, Incubation centres and much more that aim at better industry-academia interaction. He also said that the government has sanctioned more than Rs. 260 crores for research under these schemes. Javadekar ended his chat with praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his interest in making the education system of India one of the best in the world.
