: Several districts in Tamil Nadu have declared a holiday on December 3, 2024, due to inclement weather conditions. Furthermore, these districts may also remain closed on December 4, 2024, if the rain situation does not show significant improvement. As per the India Meteorological Department's predictions, a list of districts likely to declare a holiday has been provided below, along with relevant warning alerts. Our assessment of potential holiday declarations based on the closure of educational institutions in various districts is also stated.

Madras University examinations have been postponed as well.
Educational institutions in Krishnagiri and Villupuram districts are closed on 2 December 2024, and hence they are also expected to be closed on 3 December 2024 if there is no improvement in the weather conditions.
The rain situations are likely to improve in all districts on 3 December 2024, and therefore less number of schools might remain closed.
Schools in Thirukkanur, Bahour, and Marakkanam districts might also be closed due to high rainfall in the past few days.
