Tamil Nadu Schools Re-Opening 2025: As per the latest updates, the Tamil Nadu schools are expected to re-open on June 2, 2025, after the summer vacations. Most schools in Tamil Nadu have begun their summer holidays from April 25, 2025. However, the summer holidays are expected to be extended due to expected heatwaves and extreme rainfalls as per the Climate Management Committee. The final decision on the extension of summer holidays is yet to be confirmed, so students should be prepared to restart their classes from June 2.

In a recent talk with the media, Tamil Nadu School Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, have said that all schools are set to re-open on June 2 after the summer holidays. He also adds that the Climate Management Committee operating under the Chief Minister's Office is monitoring the heat conditions, and with their recommendations and decisions regarding the extension of holidays will be taken. Until any further announcement of extension, the Education Minister confirms the schools to re-open as per the given date.

Further, the India Meteorological Department has also announced that the southwestern coast of India will be experiencing early monsoons this year. Initially, the monsoon hits the southwest coast by June 1, but this year, it is expected to hit by May 27. As Tamil Nadu is situated on the southwestern coast of the country, it is most likely to be affected by the early monsoon, leading to extreme to very heavy rainfall. Such rainfalls have led to flash floods, landslides, road blockage, and waterlogging issues, which have led to the closure of schools. If any such situation arises, Tamil Nadu Schools Re-Opening 2025 may be delayed, which will only be confirmed by the Education Department in due course of time.
