Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling Phase II in the Third Week of August
The vacant seats in the government medical and dental colleges are filled based on the NEET-II score. The selection procedure is conducted under All India Quota.
The first phase of medical counselling in Tamil Nadu has concluded. So far,2,318MBBS seats have been filled. On the other hand,402Government quota seats in private colleges are also filled in the first phase of counselling. A total number of65ESIC seats have been filled. A total number of72MBBS seats are vacant in private colleges and970BDS seats are vacant in private dental colleges. The vacant seats will be filled in the second phase of counselling.
Initially, the second phase of counselling had to be commenced on18-July-2016. It has been postponed and the government is planning to conduct in the Third week of August. The admissions will be conducted only after the announcement ofNEET-IIresults.
In a press note released by the Additional Director of Medical Examinations mentioned that the NEET-II examination is going to be held on24-July-2016. The results will be declared on17-August-2016. There are467MBBS seats lying vacant in20medical government medical colleges of Tamilnadu and two ESI Colleges. Similarly, a total number of15BDS seats are vacant in government dental colleges. All these seats are filled on the basis of NEET-II score. It may take one and a half month to conduct the counselling. So, it is likely to start in the third week of August.
