Telangana Slips in Ranking in Intermediate Pass Percentage: Telangana's intermediate exam results for 2025 show a decline in the overall pass percentage of the state, making it low in the national ranking. The overall pass rate for the first and second year students is 65.81%, with 3.22 lakh students passing through the first year and 3.33 lakh in the second year. The girls have once again improved, which protects the rates of about 73–74% compared to 57–58% for boys. The performance of the district-wise varies greatly, with Mulugu at 81% and lower, with 55% at Kamareddy. While there is a slight improvement compared to 2024, challenges remain, especially in maintaining students in higher secondary education, as reflected in the state's low rankings in the school education index. In response, the Telangana government, led by CM A. Revanth Reddy, has emphasized the measures to enroll, attendance, and improve the overall student support with the aim of getting a 100% pass rate in future examinations.

Government Initiatives / Actions for improving Ranking in the Intermediate Pass Percentage
CM A. Revent Reddy has assured that the state is taking steps to improve intermediate exam results and overall education results.
Special coaching for weak students: The government planned to arrange targeted coaching and remedial classes for those students who are academically struggling, to bridge the learning gaps.
Digital learning tools: Efforts will be made to expand the use of e-learning platforms, smart classes, and digital resources so that students, especially in rural areas, have access to better study materials.
Teacher Training: Teachers will undergo improved training programs for students improve teaching quality, adapt modern teaching methods, and better support students with diverse learning needs.
Attendance and dropout monitoring: A Stricter system will be introduced to track student attendance and reduce dropout rates, which remain a major challenge in higher secondary education.
Long-term targets: The state government has set an ambitious target of obtaining a 100% pass rate in future examinations. However, academics emphasized that such results would require frequent investment, systemic reforms, and long-term commitment.
