Vinod Tawde Turns Down Demand for Permitting Offline Admissions for SSC Passed Students

The demand forre-introducing an offline admission process for SSC passed studentsto junior colleges have beendeclined by the Maharashtra governmenton Thursday.

In a discussion held during the Legislative Assembly, it was found out that alot of confusion and panic was noted among the studentswhile applying for colleges through the online method. Keeping the same in mind, it was recommended by the legislators to permit admission via offline method.

But this plea was soon turned down by the Education Minister Vinod Tawde as he said that re introducing the offline methodwill go against their directivesand also he wanted to keep education matters and decisions away from all sorts political interference and keep admission process completely based on merit.

Despite of the complains by the legislature that even students who had passed their SSC exams with distinction were having difficulty in securing admissions in a college of their choice, Tawde closed the discussion by saying thatno child will be left out in the admission process.

Currently, about 74,000 seats are vacant and 70,00 students have not got admission in Mumbai.
