HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will soon announce the government’s final decision on JEE Main April/ May 2021 exam date. Clarity on the exam date can be expected after the confirmation of CBSE Class 12 exam dates.

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will soon a final decision on JEE Main April and May 2021 exam date. A meeting was conducted with all states on May 23 to discuss the future of entrance exams and board exams for the academic session 2021-22. Most of the states favoured conducting Class 12 exams considering the future of students and admissions in professional courses at the UG level. While the plan is to wrap up the Class 12 board exams in July-August, there are chances that JEE Main April/ May 2021 to be scheduled in August and September. All states will submit their recommendations on conducting exams by May 25, and a final decision on entrance exam dates will be taken.

NTA has already conducted two phases of JEE Main in February & March. The second wave Covid-19 pandemic disturbed the exam process this year. The April and May exams that were scheduled to be conducted from April 27 to 30 and May 24 to 28 were postponed due to the spike in Covid-19 cases. The registration for JEE Main May 2021 has also been delayed. NTA is expected to give an option to change the exam city as and when the new dates for the entrance exam are confirmed.

Apart from JEE Main, several state-level engineering entrance exams have been delayed this year. KCET 2021, which was supposed to be conducted in July has been rescheduled to the last week of August. Similarly, application forms for several popular exams like MHT CET, AP EAMCET, KCET, Assam CEE, CG PET etc have not been released.

With a confirmation on board exam dates expected soon, students will get clarity on entrance exam dates. Meanwhile, students can continue with the exam preparation and revise the syllabus thoroughly for better results.
