BTech Selection Process
To take admission in BTech/BE courses, there are two ways in general. One is merit-based admissions and the other is entrance exam based. In India, the exams can be divided into national level, state level, and university level. To understand what a generic BTech admission process 2024 is, go through the points given below.
Select the Engineering College
The most important step in applying for B.Tech admission process is deciding which engineering college you want to attend. Make sure to investigate all of the important aspects, including location, cost, accreditation, and engineering specialisation, when you are focusing your college search. In addition, you need to have a fallback plan consisting of no less than three alternative engineering branch options in the event that your first choice is not available.
Three categories can be used to organise your college choices for the B.Tech admission process: elite universities, above-average universities, and average universities where your chances of admission are higher. List-making is a good way to ensure that the engineering colleges on your short list are the ones you want to attend. Important factors to take into account include the distance from home, accreditation, location, degree, placement, financial aid or scholarships, faculty members' educational backgrounds, campus life, and facilities. Choose your engineering college for the B.Tech admission process according to your suitability based on a number of factors.
Check the Eligibility Criteria for BTech in College
After narrowing down some preferred engineering colleges, check the eligibility criteria laid down by the authorities and make sure to fulfill all the requirements. Each college has its own BTech eligibility criteria. The basic requirement for the BTech admission process 2024 is that the candidate should have passed class 12th from a recognized board with PCM or PCB. Some BTech colleges in India also have certain age limits which you should check you are within. And the minimum marks required in Class 12th depend upon the student category. For example, the eligibility criteria for general students in some colleges demand 50% in Class 12th.
