The SSC CGL Typing Test 2025 is held for posts like Tax Assistant and Data Entry Operator. This test does not give any marks, however, it is a must to pass this stage to proceed further in the selection process. Students are required to type at least 35 words per minute in a specified language during the test to prove their efficiency for the role. This test is generally conducted to measure the speed of the candidate while performing a written task. If any student is not able to type correctly spelt words while maintaining their speed, they may not be qualified for the main selection test. SSC CGL Typing Test 2025 Guidelines

The important guidelines to follow for the SSC CGL typing test 2025 are provided below for reference:

  • Students will have to type the specified words or numbers in the prescribed format only.

  • The question paper for this test will be printed in English and Hindi languages.

  • Students who are opting to appear for the test in English must write 35 words per minute. Those who are choosing to appear for the test in Hindi will have to write 30 words per minute.

  • Students cannot mix and match words from the two languages while their assessment. This will be judged negatively and can disqualify them from the selection round.

  • All students will have to use the “Tab Key” for entering spaces in the beginning of typing any paragraph. By any chance if somebody tries to manually enter the space, their action will be judged under the “half-mistake” category.

  • Students should be very careful to not repeated the same paragraph again while typing. They can make corrections to it but cannot type the entire piece of content again.

  • It is mandatory to enter one space after every punctuation in the typing.

  • If any word is half spelled at any cost, it will be treated as a “full-mistake”.

  • Students must carefully type the words and numbers to avoid typing any wrong alphabets or numericals.

The nature of mistakes in the SSC CGL 2025 typing test is categorized as “half-mistake” and “full-mistake”. A detailed discussion about the two types of mistakes has been mentioned below for your reference:

1. Half Mistake:

  • Errors in spacing in between words and numericals will be considered half mistakes in the typing test. An example of this could be “Ihope” written with no space which is a half mistake and eligible for marks deduction. The correct way to type it is “I hope”.

  • A similar instruction to follow is to be careful of the capital letters in words. The capitalization of words should be justified only at the beginning of the sentences or when mentioning such words which require the same.

  • Punctuation errors will also be categorized under the half mistake criteria and will be judged with negative marking.

  • The displacement in the arrangement of letters or words also falls under this category.

  • The content for the typing test must maintain uniformity in spacing to avoid the chances of a negative marking.

2. Full Mistake:

  • If any student has missed out on a word or a number completely, they will be marked under the full mistake category.

  • If any word has been used in substitute of the given word, it will be disqualified and marked as a full mistake.

  • Students cannot add any word or figures in their typing which are not already mentioned in the test passage.

  • Errors in spellings, incomplete words and sentences, inaccuracy in the meaning, and the like will also fall the category of full mistake.

Who Can Participate in SSC CGL Typing Test 2025

Only students who are applying to posts such as Tax Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Auditor, etc., will have to take the SSC CGL typing test 2025. This test will be held for skill assessment and only those who have passed the Tier 1 exam will be eligible to take part in it. This test will measure the accuracy of typing in speed to decide whether a candidate is eligible for the listed posts or not. Students who pass this typing test will then be eligible to participate in the Tier 2 entrance exam.
