Eligibility Criteria for BDS Admission in Tamil Nadu 2025

To apply for the Tamil Nadu BDS admission 2025, it is necessary to fulfill the following list of eligibility criteria:

  • You have to complete your 10+2 in Science, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects, from a state-recognized board of education.
  • You must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (for General category) and 45% marks in aggregate (for Reserved categories) in the 10+2 qualifying exam.
  • Students must be Indian citizens and natives of Tamil Nadu.
  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply for the admission process, however, they will be considered as General category candidates.
  • If you’ve completed your primary education outside the state, you have to produce the following documentation proof: School leaving certificate, Class 10 passing certificate, Class 12 passing certificate, ration card, and birth certificate.
  • You must satisfy the minimum age limit of 17 years to participate in the state BDS admission process.

Step 1: Tamil Nadu BDS Registration 2025:

  • The registration process for Tamil Nadu BDS admission 2025 will be conducted in online mode.
  • Only those who perform well in the NEET exam are eligible to participate in the registration process.
  • For the registration process students will have to visit the official website of DME Chennai and create their student profile.
  • Enter your name, date of birth and contact details to generate the registration number and password.
  • Once the login credentials have been created, you have to login to the admission portal by using the same.
  • Students must fill out all the important fields of information as required.
  • Documents uploading must be done by following the guidelines of required size, dimensions and format.
  • All students will have to pay a requisite application fee of INR 500 for government seats and INR 1,000 for management or NRI seats to confirm their registration.

Step 2: Tamil Nadu BDS Entrance Exam 2025:

  • There is no separate entrance exam for qualification for Tamil Nadu BDS admission 2025.
  • Students are only required to appear for the NEET UG 2025 Exam.
  • The BDS admissions in the state will be administered based on the NEET performance of the students who are domiciled in Tamil Nadu.

Step 3: Tamil Nadu BDS Result & Merit List 2025:

  • Based on the NEET exam results, a state level Merit List will be published by the DME, Chennai for BDS admissions in the state.
  • The Merit List will be prepared purely based on the student's NEET score and rank.

  • The NEET Merit Lists are released for 15% AIQ seats and 85% State Quota seats separately.

  • The Tamil Nadu BDS Counselling 2025 will be conducted in online mode on the official DME Chennai website.
  • Students will be required to participate in the choice-filling process and submit their list of desired BDS colleges.
  • You can select more than two choices of colleges during the choice-filling process.
  • It is mandatory to lock your choices after you've entered your desired preferences.
  • The counselling process will be held in three rounds majorly.
