Andhra Pradesh: Teacher’s Day Celebrations to be Conducted on September 7
This year, a total number of 139 teachers have been selected for ‘Best Teacher’ awards.
The Andhra Pradesh Government is going to hold Teacher’s Day celebrations on September 7, 2016, at A1 Convention Hall, Vijayawada. The celebrations were supposed to be conducted on September 5, 2016. The government declared 5th September as a holiday on account of ‘Vinayaka Chavathi’. Honourable Chie Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu will be the chief guest for the celebrations.

This year, a total number of 139 teachers have been selected for ‘Best Teacher’ awards. The teachers have been chosen for their services who played a significant role in the development of education. Among 139 teachers, 67 are high school teachers, 13 from junior colleges, five teachers from engineering colleges and 54 professors from various universities across the state.

The best teachers will be awarded a medal, certificate and Rs. 3,000 as a part of the honour. Chief Minister will present the awards. HRD Minister of Andhra Pradesh,Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao will also take part in the celebrations. Various cultural programmes by the students of different colleges will be performed on this occasion.
The Government of Telangana will organise the Teacher’s Day Celebrations on September 8, 2016.
