Chinese Faculty and Students Visit Sharda University to Learn Yoga
Sharda University in collaboration with Zhengzhou Normal University organized a Yoga program for Chinese students and their faculty members. The students also got a scope to be a part of the Yoga sessions on the World Yoga Day.
A group of Chinese faculty members and students were a part of the two weeks Yoga learning programme conducted at Sharda University located in the national capital. This initiative was executed under the students' exchange programme. This programme aimed to provide exposure to various aspects of Indian culture and Yoga. Practical learning on health Yoga, meditation was the main key areas in these sessions. The programme was conducted for two weeks which was organised by in association with Zhengzhou Normal University, China.
This programme which lasted over a period of two weeks was organized in association with the Zhengzhou Normal University, China. The programme was conducted from 17th June to 30th June 2019.
The students were also given a scope to participate in special sessions of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyenger Yoga during their visit to Rishikesh. They were fortunate enough to be present in the land of Yoga on 21st June which is known to be International Yoga Day.
Lifen Zhao one of the students said that it was an enriching experience. He also praised the faculty members and spoke highly of the amenities provided to them. They also participated in several cultural programs which comprised of traditional Chinese and Punjabi solo and group dances. The Chancellor of Sharda University, Mr PK Gupta congratulated the international division of Sharda University for successfully organizing the event. The university also offers B.Sc courses in Yoga in collaboration with Zhengzhou Normal University. Through these programs, students are also taught study of chanting, scriptures and application of meditation.

Mr. Kumar also added that in recent times Yoga has evolved to be a good career option for students all across the world. The reason behind being an increase in the level of health consciousness among the mass. He also added that in the last few years Sharda University has been getting a good number of students who want to be a part of the Yoga courses offered by the institution. These students can find exposure in both the private and public sectors apart of fields of consultation, administrative, management, hospital, research and academics.
