Last week, the High Court of Delhi dismissed a series of pleas challenging the CBSE’s upper age limit of 25 years for general category and 30 years for reserved categories to apply for NEET-UG. However, the High Court termed CBSE’s decision to bar open school and private students from appearing to NEET as unconstitutional.

A bench of justices Chandra Sekhar and Sanjiv Khanna have validated CBSE’s norm on the upper age limit for NEET and struck down the norm that bars open school and private students from NEET.

Later, a clarification was given by Ministry of AYUSH and it directed all the states to ensure wide publicity in this regard. All the states have agreed to admit students into AYUSH courses on the basis of NEET merit.
