GU, USTM Sign MoU

A MoU was signed between Gauhati University and the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya recently. The MoU was signed by Dr. Mridul Hazarika, Vice Chancellor, GU, on behalf of the Gauhati University, and Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM, on behalf of USTM in the Office of the Registrar, Gauhati University.

The MoU provides a collaborative roadmap with regards to future cooperation between the two varsities which will pave a way for USTM’s Vision 2020, which aspires to be a university of national repute. The event was attended by Deans of various schools, professors and higher officials of USTM. The cooperation is expected to open doors for the faculties of USTM who would like to go for higher education and research in Gauhati University, the research and development activities being enhanced by the eminent senior professors and faculty of Gauhati University.

In addition, the MoU states that the Gauhati University will provide all kinds of support and guidance to USTM l so that it can achieve great academic heights. Also, GU will guide USTM in academics with faculty training and constant mentoring. Special classes will be provided by GU faculties along with guidance in university governance, syllabus, and examination upgrading, jointly organising seminars, workshops etc. on specific themes related to the north-eastern region in particular and national and international issues in general.
