Hackathon: Javadekar Urges Engineering Students to Find Solutions to Regulate Question Paper Leak

Addressing the students during the Smart India Hackathon 2018 , Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar urged the engineering students to figure out solutions for regulating question paper leak in board exams. The minister was disappointed with the question paper leak in CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams and wants engineering students to develop a distribution system that could prevent the leak of question papers.

Javadekar further stated that India is a vast country where the question papers have to be distributed to a large number of students. These papers are printed at some place, packed in another location and sent to several centres across the country. The entire process has become a challenging task, more so for the government that shall ensure leak-free exams. With the efforts and direction of engineering students, it can help build a firewall and ensure maximum security of the question papers.

Union HRD Minister hoped that the new generation engineers will come up with brilliant solutions to avoid question paper leak in future.

The central government has been facing opposition and criticism from students and parents for its negligence in regulating the confidentiality of question papers. Students also conducted various demonstrations in Delhi against the CBSE’s irregularity in checking such practices. However, Javadekar justified that the existing loopholes in the system are paving way for the question paper leak and CBSE solely must not be blamed for the issue.
