IIM Bodh Gaya Conducts its Second Annual Convocation
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya recently hosted its 2nd annual convocation ceremony for students who passed out from the batches of 2016-2018 and 2017-2019.
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya recently conducted its second convocation ceremony. The students from the batch of 2016-2018, as well as 2017-2019, had received their degrees and attended the convocation ceremony. Dr. Krishnamurth Subramnian, who is the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India was the Chief Guest. He received his Ph.D. from Chicago-Booth and he is also an ex-student of IIT and IIM. He is a prominent expert in the field of banking, economic policy and corporate governance.
The opening speech was delivered by the director of the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, Dr. Vinita Sahay. She congratulated the students for achieving for reaching this point in their lives and that they are now at a very important junction of their lives. She also added that the students will now be able to grasp many opportunities that will come their way, which will help them grow.
Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramnian had addressed the students with the chief guest speech. He talked about how the students should think when they are going about doing their work. He stated that whenever they are working, they should think about working to make themselves better human beings. He also added that the students must work without keeping money in their minds, stating ‘money is convenient not important’.

Students were also awarded medals. The Chairman’s Gold Medal was awarded to Sachin Pandey (2016-2018) for attaining the highest CGPA in the PostGraduate programme at IIM. Many other students had received gold medals for the various management programmes at the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya.

The Vice-chairman and Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank and the chairman of Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, Shri Uday Kotak, had also addressed the graduating students during the convocation ceremony. He advised the students to always choose a path that they are interested in. He also urged them to be responsible citizens and give back to society as much as they can. While advising the students, he also talked about how he had also been at the similar position of the students when he had passed out of the college he studied in.
