IIT-Guwahati Organises Spic Macay Convention From Today

IIT Guwahati is organising the fourth international convention of the Sociity for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC Macay) from May 9 to 15.

IIT Guwahati organises SPIC Macay every year almost since the inception of the movement. This year’s Spic Macay will be in continuation of the tradition of Spic Macay’s 32 two previous such conventions. Spic Macay every year witnesses endless crowd from all over the world who spend a week in a unique ashram-like atmosphere during summers. The convention holds concerts and workshops related to classical music, dance, crafts and other art form by great artists over even days.

Spic Macay - The sole purpose of this week-long convention is to let every child experience the inspiration and mysticism exemplified in the Indian and the world heritage. The vision is to reach out to maximum number of children by the year 2020. The heritage festival is known to attract a large number of audiences from the world as well as the north-east as a whole. The event will showcase performances by some eminent number of artists of the country and graced by a large number of dignitaries from across the country and delegates from abroad. There will also be talks by eminent personalities, movie screenings and concerts in the afternoons.
