IIT Hyderabad Incubated Startup to Launch High Performance Electric Two Wheelers
IIT Hyderabad has an incubated startup called PuREnergy which has created electric two-wheelers called Pure EV. The product will be launched in the commercial market next year.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad has an incubated startup called PuREnergy. The startup has been developing innovative ideas since it has come to exist. PuREnergy has now created Pure EV which is a long-range, high-performance two-wheeler and is also electric.
Pure EV is an electric two-wheeler which is especially designed for Indian conditions. It is all set to be launched all across the country on a commercial level in the upcoming month.
IIT Hyderabad issued a press release on 29th April 2019, Monday, according to which the startup PuREnergy is launching about 10,000 electric vehicles in four different models. These models are named Etrance, ETron, Egnite, and EPlute and they will be launched in the upcoming financial year.

These electric vehicles were incubated in a facility that had an area of 18,000 square feet and was co-located at the campus of IIT Hyderabad for research and development and also for the production of electric batteries and electric vehicles on a large scale.
The design of the Pure EV batteries was done in such a way that they are capable of working under tough environmental conditions. They also have less weight so that they are portable and can deliver high discharge currents for pickups that are faster.
The Founder of Pure EV and an assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, Nishanth Dongari, spoke about the launch of these new products. He said that they have developed strong capabilities in the assembly of the lithium battery packs, active balancing management systems, and some rigorous and stern testing standards for the deployment in the electric two-wheelers.

The Chief Executive Officer of Pure EV, Rohit Vadera, highlighted the business plan of the firm and said that they had obtained approval from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for two-wheelers and electric bikes. The company has also invested a notable amount of resources for testing the products on the road to check their readiness for market.
