Lucknow University to Install UTM Software Soon

Lucknow University is in the process of installing the UTM software with which we will be able to monitor all online activities and thus check misuse of the facility. According to spokesperson Kamal Jaiswal 'the foolproof system will also keep outsiders at bay, besides helping maintain sanctity of the educational institution by banning the immoral indulgence.''

Officials said UTM allows the administrator to monitor and manage a wide variety of security-related applications and infrastructure components from a single management console. Apart from knowing what is being browsed, the university will also, via the IP address, get to know the area where the user is browsing. For example, if the student/teacher is browsing a website sitting inside the auditorium, the university will be able to track them down.

Presently, University has wi-fi facility in the library, auditorium, administrative blocks and some departments. The facility is being extended to hostels and other departments.

With the process of strengthening Internet connectivity, the university has rationed net usage on its campus. University is currently ensuring the right use of its WIFI facility that is provided to its students so that they can use it to polish their inner skills to make a better future.
