MoU Signed between Enactus IIT Ropar and Patient Planet to Uplift Rural Healthcare Facilities
In an attempt to start open telemedicine center across Punjab, IIT Ropar, and Patient Planed have signed a MoU.
In an attempt to start open telemedicine center across Punjab, IIT Ropar, and Patient Planed have signed a MoU. The third telemedicine center will be started by them in Dugri village on January 26, 2017. The idea is to grow efficiency and reach out to Pan India. The MoU will also benefit the people of rural areas and provide them better healthcare facilities.
It has been four years since the company was founded. Enactus IIT Ropar was founded in 2012 with the motive to bring a positive change in the society.
Assistant Professors Dr. Balwinder Sodhi and Dr. Navin Kumar of the Department of Computer Science Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering respectively directed the team Enactus IIT Ropar comprising a lot of students.

The team Leader of Enactus, IIT Ropar, Dhanesh Kumar said that they plan to work in collaboration and provide better healthcare facilities in Punjab.
Among the facilities provided at the telemedicine center are ECG, Optometry facilities for above 12,000 people around Dugri village. The profits made by the team will be utilized in starting telemedicine centers in other parts of India and make E-Swasthya an affordable facility for those in need.
E-Swasthya centers will offer patients from remote villages expert medical facilities with the means of video calling. The telemedicine centers launched in Anandpur Sahib and Nurpur Bedi have been successful and are linked to the Ropar civil hospital.
It is a bright initiative that will combine the skills of talented students of IIT Ropar and expertise of the professionals at Patient Planet to device medical solutions for rural India, said CEO of Patient Planet, Arnab Paul.
