ANU's NSS Unit Organize Swatch Bharath Campaign

The NSS unit of Acharya Nagarjuna University organized Swatch Bharath Campaign on 4-April-2016. The campaign was organized as a part of NSS activities. The campaign will continue till 9-April-2016 . It was inaugurated by University Vice-Chancellor, Dr.Rajendra Prasad .

Addressing the NSS volunteers he said, “The NSS unit of ANU has been conducting a lot of service activities. They took part in Vanamahotsav, plantation campaign initiated by Honorable Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. They also participated in the annual festival of Mangalagiri temple and supplied food and water packets. They also organized Swatch Bharath campaign an initiative of the honorable prime minister of India”. He appreciated the efforts of NSS unit in conducting various social activities.

NSS coordinator, Dr.P.N.Paul gave the details of NSS activities 2016. He mentioned, “The NSS unit organizes Swatch Bharath campaign at the university level for one day. Later this campaign will take place in the nearby villages and schools. The unit will organize a blood donation campaign at University on 7-April-2016”. Students actively took part in cleaning the campus. A total number of 300 students took part in the campaign. They also participated in plantation as a result 150 saplings were planted in the University. The campaign ended at 1.00 PM. NSS coordinator admired the NSS volunteers for actively participating in the campaign.

The campaign was attended by University rector, S.Sambasiva Rao, Acharya P.Shankar, director of ANU school of distance education and others.
