Rajasthan School Holiday for Diwali 2025; Private schools allowed to run classes, holiday for government schools
Rajasthan’s Education Department has eased its school closure order, allowing private schools to hold exam revision classes during the Diwali break with parental consent. Meanwhile, government schools will remain closed.
Rajasthan School Holiday for Diwali 2025:
The education department of Rajasthan has eased the restriction on the complete closure of schools from
October 13 to 24, 2025
, as per the previous order, and now permits private schools to hold exam preparation and revision classes during the Diwali vacation if they have parental consent. The authorities decided to do it after many schools requested permission to get the flexibility in order to be able to help the students with their revision for the half-yearly and board examinations that would take place shortly after the festival. The move is aimed at ensuring that students do not lag in their courses due to the extended holidays.
The local education officer (LEO) in Bikaner said that private schools can only conduct such activities during the break, apart from the five main festival days. The order states that no action will be taken against schools if they organise revision classes with the consent of parents. Previously, the education department warned that schools not complying with the closure order would face heavy penalties. The district official's new message is a great relief for private schools that were struggling to finish their syllabus before the exams.

Government schools will be closed during the break as per official instructions. The exams in these schools will be held according to the academic calendar, and Chief Block Education Officers have been instructed to ensure that the updated rules are implemented.
Simultaneously, the department has launched the first-ever
‘School Beautification and Rejuvenation Campaign’
with the directive to all
65,000 government schools
in Rajasthan to get decorated, cleaned, and illuminated. Schools are also getting freshly painted and prepared for the return of students after the festival.
This dual approach ensures that private school students can continue preparing for the exams, while government schools get an upgrade and a festive makeover, creating a more vibrant and encouraging learning environment across the state.
