Selection and Counselling Process for M.Tech Course at Calcutta University

Calcutta University conducts entrance examination for the admission to M.Tech course. However, the candidates who have completed B.Tech course in Calcutta University and GATE qualified candidates are exempted from taking the entrance examination. Selection Process: -

• The varsity offers 60% seats to the candidates who are pursuing or completed B.Tech or MCA course from University of Calcutta.
• GATE qualified candidates will be given first preference while shortlisting.
• 70% of weightage will be given to GATE candidates.
• The varsity offers 40% seats to the students who are not from Calcutta University.
• These students have to take the entrance examination.
• GATE candidates will be given preference.
• 20% weightage will be given to the score of entrance examination.
• 70% weightage will be given to GATE score.
• 10% weightage will be given to interview.
• The final merit list will be prepared as per above-mentioned criterion.

Counselling Process: -

• The candidates whose names have been shortlisted for the admission need to attend the cousnelling process.
• GATE candidates need to carry GATE scorecard.
• Previous academic certificates must be carried to the counseling.
• The candidates need to confirm the admission.
• The candidates have to pay the course fee on or before stipulated date.
