Tamil Nadu Govt. Assures Special NEET Exam Training for Students

The School Education Department of Tamil Nadu has expressed its anguish over the officials who are responsible for running NEET centres for the students of government schools across the state. The government expressed its dissatisfaction over the lethargic functioning of these centres. The training centres are expected to work on Sundays to facilitate preparation of NEET 2018 aspirants . However, it has come to the notice of department that many NEET centres for government students remain closed on Sundays. On the other hand, many of the trainers in these centres are still not equipped with video conferencing facilities.

An official of School Education Department revealed that the state government has trained teachers of government schools to take classes in NEET coaching centres , however, in reality, it is not happening. The state government is also paying an honorarium of Rs. 350 for the teachers working on holidays.

At present, NEET training in Tamil Nadu is being conducted for Tamil medium students in government schools. English medium students are being left out due to the language barrier. With an aim to address the issue and provide NEET training to English-medium students, the state government will conduct separate training sessions.

The government will select 2,000 English-medium students based on their academic background and academic performance. These students will be provided NEET intensive training in Chennai free of cost. The government will also provide free food and accommodation facilities to these students.

Apart from 2,000 students selected by the government, a noted private firm will select another 2,000 students to impart NEET training in newly-established training centres. Special training along with a crash course will be provided to these students.

According to the official data of School Education Department, over 72,000 students from government schools enrolled in 412 NEET training centres.
