Three Students of IIT Bhubaneshwar Bag Annual Package of Rs. 38 Lakh
Last year, the top package offered to one of the students was Rs. 12.5 lakh per annum. This year, the students from the institute have been bagging high packages similar to older IITs.
A total number of three students at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneshwar have secured a top offer from a reputed company with an annual package of Rs.38 lakh in the ongoing placement season. It is the first time that the students from IIT-Bhubaneshwar bagged this kind of a package. Rajkumar, Director of IIT-Bhubaneshwar, revealed that they are witnessing the best placement season this year.

Last year, the top package offered to one of the students was Rs. 12.5 lakh per annum. This year, the students from the institute have been bagging high packages similar to older IITs.
In the first five days, i.e., from December 1 to December 6, 2016, a total number of 72 students bagged jobs with an average annual package of Rs. 10 lakh per annum. Last year, the average annual package was Rs. 8 lakh. This year, there has been an increase in the number of job opportunities as well as packages. The institute is expected to perform well in terms of placements in the next two to three weeks.

This year, a total number of 40 companies have registered for recruiting students. Coal India and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) are also taking part in the recruitment process. This year, PSUs have started recruiting students from IITs which is a good sign. Various private companies are also a part of the same.
Earlier, the students from IIT Bhubaneshwar bagged annual packages ranging between Rs. 5 to Rs. 7 Lakh. Only in the recent times, the institute has been performing exceptionally well in all the areas.
