Tourism and Hospitality Management Syllabus to Undergo Revision
In a meeting conducted recently in Hamirpur, the All-India Board of Tourism and Hospitality Management has decided to restructure the syllabus as per the mandate of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The All India Board of Tourism and Hospitality Management (AITBHM) has decided to restructure the syllabus of Tourism and Hospitality Management soon. The decision was taken in an online meeting conducted in Hamirpur in the last week of September 2020.
This restructuring is being done to align the course curriculum with the directives set in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, the Chairman of AICTE, was also present at this meeting and gave his address.
Prof S P Bansal, the current Chairman of AIBTHM and Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur, laid stress on the importance of timely initiatives to include need-based courses and update the course curriculum as per the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Providing more information on this subject, Prof Bansal acknowledged that tourism has been the most affected industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and he said that the board recommendations on curriculum changes will be submitted at the AICTE council meeting. Once accepted at the council, the recommendations will be implemented across the country.
About the New Course Curriculum of Tourism and Hospitality Management
The new course curriculum will affect both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Tourism and Hospitality Management. The board plans to make the courses multi-disciplinary while providing multiple exit options to the students and enhancing the flexibility of the course.
