UoH to Mentor New Central University in Andhra Pradesh
- UoH will assist in introducing new courses and academic activities, estimating costs, determine selection process and admission norms at the Central University in Andhra Pradesh.
- It will also mentor them to estimate financial and human resources required.
The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has asked theUniversity of Hyderabad (UoH)to mentor the new Central University in Andhra Pradesh. The new central university will be established in Jantharalu village of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.
TheUniversity of Hyderabadwill continue to mentor until the amendment ofCentral Universities Act of 2009is affected. UoH will mainly work towards the formation of a society under the Societies Act. It will also focus on introducing new courses, starting academic activities for the current academic session, estimating costs, determining selection process and admission norms, designing curriculum etc.

UoH Registrar P Sardar Singh willassist the Andhra Pradesh governmentfor institutional mechanisms and infrastructure. On the other hand, Appa Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the university will work towards academic units and also determine feasibility and logistics of introducing new academic programmes and courses. He will also estimate the financial and human resources required by the new central university.
