Recent IMD reports suggest Orange Alert for 4 districts, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri Garhwal, and Bageshwar with expected Uttarakhand School Holiday 2 September 2025 amid heavy rainfall.
Uttarakhand School Holiday 2 September 2025:
Due to heavy rainfall across the state, most districts in Uttarakhand have been declared a holiday for September 1, 2025. As per IMD reports, 6 districts are under Red Alert for September 1, but the weather is expected to improve by September 2, and only 4 districts are expected to be under Orange alert namely, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, and Bageshwar. If the weather forecats changes and the District Administration announces a holidy for the safety of the students, the same shall be available here.

Students and parents shall follow the latest updates for Uttarakhand School Holiday 2 September 2025 here to be prepared accordingly:- No update for the official school holiday has been announced as the weather is improving. In case of any changes, the District Administration will announce through Social Media or through the School Administration.
- On September 1, all schools, colleges, government and private institutes, including anganbadis, have been declared holiday in 11 districts due to heavy rainfall for the safety of the students.
- As per the reports, a 1-day holiday has been confirmed for Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri Garhwal, and Almora districts by the District administrations.
- While Chamoli, Tehri Garhwal, Bageshwar, and Rudraprayag are under Orange alert for September 2 and most likely to be declared a holiday, Almora schools are also expected to remain closed due to heavy rainfall.
- For September 2, District Administrators have yet to confirm the holiday.
