Andhra Pradesh Introduces Command Centre to Prevent Cheating in Medical Exams: Key Highlights and Impact

Andhra Pradesh has launched a Remote Command Control Centre at NTR University of Health Sciences to prevent malpractice in medical exams. Using real-time CCTV surveillance, the system will monitor UG/PG exams across 37 government and private medical colleges, improving transparency, accountability, and exam efficiency.

Andhra Pradesh Introduces Command Centre to Prevent Cheating in Medical Exams:Andhra Pradesh health minister, Y Satya Kumar Yadav inagurated the Command Control Centre inNTR University of Health Sciencesto improve the transparency in medical examinations. In collaboration with Origo Biz Solutions and software support from Duranq Technologies, the Command Centre will oversee undergraduate and postgraduate medical exams done in 37 state-run and privately owned medical colleges in the state.

The exam halls are also linked to the university through the new system through CCTV surveillance, which enables real-time analysis of the exams and digitally captures them. The number of students who are taking medical and allied health exams annually is nearly 60,000; they include MBBS, PG, dental, nursing, and AYUSH courses. The authorities are hopeful that malpractice will be prevented with the initiative, accountability will be improved, and the overall efficiency of examinations will be enhanced.

What Is the Remote Command Control Centre

The Remote Command Control Centre will be used to monitor the medical examinations throughout Andhra Pradesh. Through real-time CCTV monitoring, the facility will ensure that it monitors exam halls in the associated colleges closely to ensure that malpractices are checked, transparency is enhanced, and the entire examination system is seen as credible.

How the Monitoring System Works

The monitoring process is planned to be in such a manner that it is able to reinforce exam monitoring without disrupting the students. The system is also fair because it depends on technology instead of the heavy manual checks, thus maintaining a smooth process.

  • CCTV cameras are installed in the examination halls of the affiliated medical colleges, with approximately 25 cameras in each college and linked to the Remote Command Control Centre of the NTR University of Health Sciences.

  • These cameras are streamed into a central control room that has a six-screen video wall and various monitoring systems so that the officials can monitor the exams as they happen.

  • The activity of students within the exam halls is being recorded and safely stored up to 70 days to be verified, when necessary.

  • The system also works even when the internet is interrupted for a short time and will be automatically flagged in case of any technical problem.

  • Centralisation of this type of setup lowers reliance on manual invigilation and assists in preserving examination integrity with minimum interference.

What Colleges Remote Command Centre Covers

The government is to increase the coverage of the Command Centre in a gradual approach and presently, it is covering 5 colleges to be patrolled, including NTR University of Health Sciences. The Command Centre will eventually be covering 37 government and privately owned medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
