On-Screen Marking Evaluation System for Class 12 Board Exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced an On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for the evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets, shifting from physical to digital assessment. This change has been implemented for the teachers to save transportation time and costs and enable them to “remain in their schools and continue regular duties." This will aim at efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in the assessment process. While the “evaluation of Class 10 answer books will continue in physical mode as before in 2026.”How does OSM Work?
Answer sheets for the CBSE 12th exams will be scanned and uploaded in digital mode. This will allow the teachers to evaluate the answer books directly on computers from their own schools. This reduces physical transport time and costs. This will allow the teachers to speed up evaluation, with marks entered automatically to prevent errors.
