AICTE Directs Karnataka Technical Colleges Get on Board With NAD
As directed by the MHRD, the institutions of technical education in Karnataka will be getting on board with NAD. The AICTE has issued an order and sent it to the colleges about this.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has directed all the institutions of Technical Education in Karnataka to come on board under the National Academic Depository (abbreviated as NAD).
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has acted on this order given by MHRD and has asked all institutions of technical education in the State to come on board with NAD. it also asked the TEQIP and autonomous institutions to do the same.
The All India Council for Technical Education issued an order which was sent to all the colleges of the State. The diktat stated that the NAD has been established to make sure that a safe and digital electronic storehouse is provided for all academic awards like degrees, certificates, mark sheets, diplomas, etc. The National Academic Depository (NAD) permits all academic institutions for lodging and uploading each and every academic award that has been authenticated and validated.
The National Academic Depository comprises two inter-operable digital depositories, NSDL Database Management Limited (abbreviated as NDML) and CDSL Ventures Limited (abbreviated as CVL).
The Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, spoke about this step and said that NAD will be of immense benefit to several stakeholders as it will make it easy for them to access the documents and the mark sheets, degrees, certificates, etc. will be available with a simple click of the mouse.
AICTE is a national level council and the statutory body for technical education in India. It functions under the Department of Higher Education of the country’s Ministry of Human Resource Development. It was established in the month of November in 1945 and was given the statutory status in the year 1987.
