Accreditation of Business Schools Has Many Benefits: AICTE Chairman
Accreditation of Business Schools will provide them with full autonomy and offer students global opportunities. According to AICTE Chairman, both institutes and students benefit from accreditation.
All India Council of Technical Education Chairman Anil Sahasrabuddhe released a statement saying that for an easier autonomy process and providing the students with better opportunities worldwide, business schools should get themselves accreditated. The statement was released by the AICTE Chairman on 1st March 2019.
Those business schools who attain accreditation are able to seek autonomy and the AICTE also approves the courses offered by the B-school for full duration validity of the accreditation. The autonomy further provides the institutes with the freedom to start new courses, update the curriculum and declare results on its own without the AICTE's approval.

Apart from this, AICTE is part of the signatory to the Washington Accord which implies that the students of the accreditated institutions are considered to be at the same level of the other students from different countries that are also signatories to the Washington Accord.

During the meeting of Regulatory policy for Developing Futuristic Business Schools in India, Sahasrabuddhe mentioned that they were trying to figure out what the AICTE was offering to the Business Schools and the things that the Business schools were trying to do. This resulted in the formation of a new set of rules which could help the institutes to run independently.
