Chandigarh University's University Institute of Computing in collaboration with Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay Inaugurated Free and Open Source (FOSS) centre at the university campus.
To bring the students & faculties at par with the existing market technologies, the Chandigarh University's University Institute of Computing in association with Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay set up a FOSS centre to promote the IT literacy throughout the country. It is the first centre to be set-up in aPrivate University of North India.
An initiative of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, this Spoken Tutorial Project is an advantageous commencement of the ‘Talk to a Teacher’ activity.
Main benefits the centre is likely to provide are -
- The Spoken Tutorial aims to provide its spoken tutorials on FOSS available in a number of Indian languages to ease the learner's experience.
