Delhi University Colleges to Hike Fees from Upcoming Academic Year
Many Delhi University (DU) colleges are set to revise their fee structure for UG courses due to insufficient funds. DU's Bharati College has already revised the annual infrastructure fees from the upcoming academic year.
Many University of Delhi colleges will revise their fee structure for the undergraduate courses from the upcoming academic year due to insufficient funds. Some of the DU colleges have already conducted their staff meeting council regarding the same and have formed committees for the revision of the fee structure.
Ramjas College decided to revise its fee in the staff counselling meeting which was conducted in the month of April 2019. The college has revised the annual infrastructure fees to Rs.3500 from Rs.1500 and the annual function and students orientation fee has been increased to Rs.500 from Rs.50. Manoj Khanna, Principal Ramjas College informed that the revision of the fee structure was done after taking into account various factors. According to him, the college has tried to keep the revision minimum, However, it was necessary for the infrastructure development of the college. The college has not made any changes in the tuition fee.
Mukti Sayal, Principal Bharti College informed that the governing body of the institute has allowed them to increase the fees for only one course. The college is not enough funds since the last few years. They have only been able to make a nominal charge of Rs.300 in B.A. (Hons) in Psychology.
Sayal further informed that the college is planning to seek sponsorships from the co-curricular activities. The cultural societies of the college can work through sponsorship as the college lack funds.

SGTB Khalsa College will also be revising its fee structure. The college committee is working on revising the fee structure as the things have become tougher for Science Colleges due to a lot of maintenance cost involved in laboratories.

Gargi College has also revised the fee structure for most of its courses. The fees for B.A. (Hons) Business Economics course has gone up to Rs.14,000.Promila Kumar Gargi College, Principal informed that B.A. (Hons) Business Economics is a self-financed course and its the main reason for revising the course fee.
