IIM-Bombay Bags 19th Rank in FT Rankings

Indian Institute of Management, Indore Bombay campus has bagged 19^th rank in the Financial Times (FT) Masters in Management 2016 ranking for its Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGDM). In 2015, IIM Bombay had secured 26^th rank in the same survey. Steps taken by the IIM-B to promote gender diversity in the classrooms has made the Institute jump seven places on the rankings list in 2016.

With 28% women population in its two-year management programme, IIM-Bombay is the only management school in India that can boast of such a feat. Besides this, 25% women approximately constitute as members of the school advisory board. Additionally, IIM - Bombay also has 21% of women faculty, which suggests that the institute has worked consistently to promote gender diversity.

In fact, IIM-Ahmedabad is down to 16^th position in 2016 rankings. The institute had secured 15^th rank in 2015 and is followed by IIM-Indore (Bombay campus) and IIM-Calcutta, who achieved 23^rd position this year. The institute is down by seven positions where it bagged 16^th rank in 2015.

Raghavan Srinivasan, Director In-Charge of IIM-Bombay said that the rankings reiterate the efforts of the Institute towards achieving global excellence.
