Madhya Pradesh: University to Provide Engineering Course in Hindi
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Madhya Pradesh will start offering electrical, mechanical and civil engineering courses in Hindi.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Madhya Pradesh will start offering electrical, mechanical and civil engineering courses in Hindi. The aim of the university is to provide technical and medical education in Hindi to students who aspire to study the subjects in Hindi medium.
Dr. Mohan Lal Chhipa, Vice Chancellor of the university said that admissions to the courses mentioned above have been going on for some time now and once the process is over, the classes will begin in Hindi medium.
These courses will be started totally in Hindi regardless of the strength of the students in each batch, added Chhipa when he was questioned about the size of the batches for these courses.

The Vice-Chancellor also added that these courses do not concern intake as they are more focused on breaking the myth that English dominates the country. He challenged the dominion of English over education and cited the example of nations like Japan, Korea, Israel, China, Germany, Russia, Sweden and many others who have been teaching various courses including engineering and medical courses in their native languages.
Referring to the honorable former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that the university is pleased that being found in the name of the noted Hindi scholar, they are the first to initiate engineering courses in Hindi. Currently, the university is conducting its operations from the Minto Hall that is the Old Vidhan Sabha building as its campus is being built in a 50-acre area.
The Hindi courses offered by the university will be provided at the Bhoj Open University campus until the time the new campus is under construction.
Chhipa also added that the university will focus on motivating students and will help them emerge as entrepreneurs and create jobs for other students.

The syllabus for these courses in Hindi has been designed by the university and the faculty has also been appointed. According to the Vice-Chancellor, both degree and diploma courses will be offered in these disciplines. Initially, there will be 30 seats in all three streams in degree as well as diploma courses.
After some time, the university will also start providing medical courses once it gets the nod of Medical Council of India.
The university has already written to MCI regarding this matter, however, it is a rather long process and will take time.
