MBBS Aspirants can Take Admission Aboard without NEET-UG 2018 Score: MCI
In a major relief to medical aspirants, MCI has granted a one-time exemption from the requirement of NEET-UG 2018 to the candidates willing to take MBBS admission abroad.
The Medical Council of India (MCI) has officially announced that MBBS aspirants who did not appear for NEET-UG 2018 can take admission abroad. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has decided to grant a one-time exemption from the requirement of NEET-UG. The decision is only applicable to MBBS admissions to be taken outside India for the academic session 2018-19. Next year, the aspirants must clear NEET-UG to obtain Eligibility Certificate (EC) so that they can take MBBS admission abroad.
Candidates, who did not appear for NEET-UG 2018, and are willing to take MBBS admission abroad must furnish an undertaking that he /she had not registered/appeared for NEET-UG 2018. The MCI will verify with CBSE whether such an undertaking is genuine or not. If the undertaking submitted by the candidate is found to be genuine, MCI will issue Eligibility Certificate so that the candidates are eligible for MBBS admission outside India.

MCI cautioned the candidates that if the undertaking submitted by them is found to be a fake/ false/ forgery, an appropriate legal action would be initiated against them.
Earlier, the MCI announced that NEET is mandatory to pursue medical education abroad . On August 30, 2018, the High Court of Delhi passed an order stating that the government could grant a one-time exemption from the requirement of NEET-UG to the Indian citizens who are willing to take MBBS admission abroad.
