Some fraudulent agencies and organisations have found a way to fool colleges and institutions by claiming that they can help the institutes acquire a higher rank from NAAC. Such agencies are pretending that these workshops and other activities and services will further help them in securing top rating from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Once this thing came into light, a notice was issued by NAAC regarding the same, saying that these workshops and advertisements are fake and colleges need to be cautious of the same.

DP Singh, director of NAAC issue a public notice to warn the universities and institutes of these fraudulent advertisements which are being used by agencies and organisations to mislead the institutes.

NAAC has issued a notice in public interest to warn them of agencies and organisations claiming to help them in getting a higher ranking from NAAC by engaging in activities like:

  • Preparation of self-study report (SSR)
  • Providing tips on getting higher grade from NAAC
  • Providing staff/making adhoc arrangements to fill the gaps
  • Facilitating visit of NAAC

NAAC director says that these advertisements are fraudulent as they in no way can help in getting the institutes a better grade as the grading system is transparent in nature and is determined by assessing the performance of a particular institution.

Therefore, institutes are told not to fall into the traps of these agencies and not to enter into any transaction with these agencies to get a higher grade from NAAC.

Also, no organisation or agency has been authorised by the NAAC to conduct any sort of workshop. Also, NAAC has not given any consent to any organisation to help institutes in preparing SSR and presentations during NAAC visit.
