As a part of re-organisation of the admission process for PG medical colleges in Maharashtra, the revised first list of candidates was released on April 26, 2018. The revised list does not affect admission of those candidates who already paid fees and had confirmed their admission in the first round of seat allotment. The official confirmation in this regard was made by State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell.

Due to a tussle between private medical colleges and FRA (Fee Regulatory Authority) over the NRI and management quota seats, the admission process for PG medical courses was halted temporarily. These colleges refused to enrol students unless they were allowed to increase fees.

Earlier, FRA had fixed fees for management seats to be three times higher than merit seats and NRI quota fees to be five times higher than the same. However, the administration of these private colleges is not satisfied with the fee structure fixed by FRA.

Following the protests from private medical colleges , the state government intervened and allowed private medical colleges to charge fees for management seats four times higher than the merit seats, while the fees for NRI quota will be five times higher.

Due to the protest of private medical colleges , several seats remained vacant after the revision of fee structure. Many students who have already confirmed the admission have no other option except to pull out. With a motive to streamline this, the CET Cell has revised the first list of candidates. The new list is applicable to seats in private medical colleges and the candidates who want to cancel the admission due to the increased fees.

In the revised list that was released on April 26, over 4,700 candidates have been allotted seats in medical colleges based on the preferences filled in the first round. April 29, 2018, is the last date to confirm the admission. In case of a bank holiday for depositing the fee, the candidates can make fee payment in the form of a cheque .
