  • 1.64 lakh candidates will be appearing for JEE Advanced 2018 on 20th May.
JEE Advanced 2018 Zone-Wise Distribution of Students: IIT Bombay Loses First Spot

JEE Advanced 2018 organising committee has officially released the zone-wise distribution of eligible candidates for the national-level IIT entrance exam. For the second time, IIT Bombay lost the first spot, with IIT Delhi and IIT Madras taking the top positions. However, the zone-wise number of candidates eligible for JEE Advanced 2018 does not reflect where the candidates come from. For instance, a student from Guwahati might have opted for JEE Main exam centre in Rajasthan. In such cases, the candidates will be considered from that particular zone.

Even though 2.31 lakh candidates secured eligibility for JEE Advanced 2018, only 1.64 lakh candidates submitted the online application form for the entrance exam. Over 32% of eligible candidates opted out of JEE Advanced 2018 due to various reasons. All the 23 IITs together offer more than 11,000 seats in B.Tech courses.
