  • JoSAA counselling 2019 result will be declared after JEE (Advanced). Candidates can check JoSAA counselling important dates below. Candidates who cleared JEE can participate in JoSAA counselling 2019 to secure admission.

Candidates who perform well in the Joint Engineering Examination should register for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JoSAA counselling 2019 in order to take admission in best engineering courses, across 100 participating engineering colleges that includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 Other-GFTIs. JoSAA counselling 2019 will be conducted for all eligible candidates who have qualified JEE Mains or JEE Advanced for admissions in centrally funded technical institutes. JEE is being conducted two times by the NTA, one can expect the JoSAA counselling 2019 to begin in March after the conclusion of JEE (Main) exam - January session. Students, who write the AAT can fill their choice from March 18, 2019 (tentative). The registration process for JoSAA counselling will end in March (for the January JEE session) and in June (for the April JEE session). In total, there will be 7 rounds of JoSAA counselling in 2019. All students who have cleared JEE Mains are eligible to apply for JoSAA counselling.

Last year, the Round 7 seat allotment result for JoSAA was released on July 18, 2018, on the official website. Candidates checked the result by entering their roll number and password. Earlier, the Round 6 seat allotment result for JoSAA was also released on the official website.

JoSAA Counselling Process 2019:

JoSAA 2019 counselling is a six-step process. Candidates seeking admissions in the most prestigious engineering institutes can read detailed guidelines below. Also, all aspiring candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria thoroughly before applying for the counselling of JoSAA 2019. JoSAA Counselling 2019 Registration Process:

  • Candidates will have to register themselves in order to participate in JoSAA counselling 2019. Candidates can login using their exam roll numbers.
  • In order to log in, candidates can use their JEE Main 2019 roll numbers. However, candidates who have cleared JEE Advanced 2019 will have to log in using their JEE Advanced roll number.
  • There is no need to fill any other details in order to register as all the personal and academic details of the candidates will be fetched from their JEE Main and JEE Advanced forms respectively.
  • Candidates will be required to update their contact details for JoSAA 2019 counselling. It is also mandatory to change the password while registering for counselling.

JoSAA Counselling 2019 Choice Filling:

  • Applicants will be able to view choices according to their eligibility criteria, i.e. those who have qualified JEE Main will be able to choose from NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and those who have cleared JEE advanced will be able to choose from IITs.
  • The initial step is to select the streams and institutes where the candidate wants to apply. Then the candidates will be required to arrange these choices in order of their preference, i.e. from most preferred to least preferred by using the ‘Arrange Filled Choices’ option.
  • Read your preferences carefully and use the ‘Choice Rearrange’ and ‘Choice Interchange’ to make changes to your list if needed. A ‘Multiple Deletion’ option is also provided to delete multiple choices.
  • Once you are certain about your preference list and the order that it follows, save the choices.

JoSAA Counselling 2019 Choice Locking:

  • After you are done selecting and arranging your preferences you can either choose ‘I agree to lock my choices’ option or you can select ‘I will lock my choices later’ option.
  • IT is important to select the ‘I agree to lock my choices’ option before the last of of choice filling and locking.
  • Take a print out of your preference list by entering your JEE Advanced/ JEE Main roll number and password respectively.

JoSAA Counselling 2019 Seat Allotment:

  • JoSAA seat allotment 2019 is conducted online on the basis of the preference list submitted by students and the merit list prepared by the authorities.
  • Candidates who qualify the cut-off criteria set by JoSAA 2010 will be added to the JoSAA rank list 2019. The rank list and seat allocation information will be released online.

JoSAA Counselling Fee Payment 2019:

  • If you have secured a seat through JoSAA counselling 2019, make sure that you download the provisional allotment letter along with the e-challan for the payment of seat acceptance fee.
  • Seat acceptance fee for general candidates is Rs. 45,000, whereas for SC, Gen-PwD, ST, OBC-NCL-PwD, ST-PwD and SC-PwD the fee will be Rs. 20,000 that can be paid either through e-challan or through SBI net banking.
  • This fees will be included in the semester fees once the student has confirmed admission.

JoSAA Reporting Centres 2019:

  • Those candidates who have been allocated seats will have to report at the assigned reporting centres for verification of documents.
  • Candidates will have to carry all original mark sheets and other necessary documents at the time of verification. Those who fail to produce original documents will fail the verification round and their admission will be cancelled.
  • Candidates who have been allocated institutes other than NITs, IIITs and GFTI will have to report at the respective institute in order to confirm their admission by paying the remaining part of the first-semester fee.

Documents to be Submitted at the Reporting Centre at the Time of Seat Acceptance:

For NITs and other GFTIs:

  • Provisional seat allotment letter
  • Admit card of JEE (Main) 2018
  • Scorecard of JEE (Main) 2018 [
  • Date of birth proof [Class X marks sheet]
  • Three passport size photographs identical to the one uploaded during JEE (Main) 2018 registration
  • Class XII performance check
  • Undertaking by the candidate
  • Proof of seat acceptance fee payment by online net banking of State Bank of India (SBI), debit cards issued ONLY by SBI and E-Challan by SBI [For SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 15,000/- For others: Rs. 35,000/-]
  • Photo identity card [issued by govt. agency/last attended school/Class XII admit card]
  • Class XII (or equivalent) board marks sheet.
  • Indian nationals who passed the qualifying examination from Nepal/Bhutan or an institution abroad must bring a passport. Permanent address given in the passport will determine state code.
  • The candidates having Senior Secondary Certificate from the National Open School must bring the proof of place of examination centre of the final examination to determine the state code.
  • Medical certificate
  • Category certificate (OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable

For IITs:

  • Provisional seat allotment letter
  • Class XII performance
  • Undertaking by the candidate
  • Proof of seat acceptance fee payment by online net banking of State Bank of India (SBI), debit cards issued ONLY by SBI and E-Challan by SBI [For SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 15,000/- For others: Rs. 35,000/-]
  • Original Admit card of JEE Advanced 2018
  • Date of birth proof [Class X marks sheet]
  • Class XII (or equivalent) board marks sheet. If available, pass certificate
  • Medical certificate
  • Category certificate (OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable
  • The OBC-NCL certificate should be dated on or after April 1, 2018. The certificate should clearly mention that the candidate belongs to non-creamy layer and the caste of the candidate must be in the state-wide central list of OBCs
  • Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable.
  • Passport of the candidate and parents (for foreign nationals), OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
  • DS certificate (if applicable)
  • Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment.
  • Two passport size photographs identical to the one uploaded during JEE (Main/ Advanced) 2018 registration
