Round 6 seat allotment JoSAA on November 07. JoSAA counselling 2020 for the admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs has started. The counselling and seat allotment process of JEE Main is based on the AIR obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam.

JoSAA Counselling

JoSAA 2020 - Candidates who perform well in the Joint Engineering Examination register for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JoSAA counselling 2020 in order to take admission in best engineering courses, across 110 participating engineering colleges that include 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 Other-GFTIs. JoSAA counselling 2020 is being conducted for all eligible candidates who have qualified JEE Mains or JEE Advanced for admissions in centrally funded technical institutes. JEE is being conducted two times by the NTA, and the counselling process has begun now. All students who have cleared JEE Mains are eligible to apply for JoSAA counselling.

JoSAA Counselling Process 2020

JoSAA 2020 counselling is a six-step process. Candidates seeking admissions in the most prestigious engineering institutes can read detailed guidelines below. Also, all aspiring candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria thoroughly before applying for the counselling of JoSAA 2020. JoSAA Counselling 2020 Registration Process

  • Candidates will have to register themselves in order to participate in JoSAA counselling 2020. Candidates can log in using their exam roll numbers.

  • In order to log in, candidates can use their JEE Main 2020 roll numbers. However, candidates who have cleared JEE Advanced 2020 will have to log in using their JEE Advanced roll number.

  • There is no need to fill any other details in order to register as all the personal and academic details of the candidates will be fetched from their JEE Main and JEE Advanced forms respectively.

  • Candidates will be required to update their contact details for JoSAA 2020 counselling. It is also mandatory to change the password while registering for counselling.

JoSAA Counselling 2020 Choice Filling

  • Applicants will be able to view choices according to their eligibility criteria, i.e. those who have qualified JEE Main will be able to choose from NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and those who have cleared JEE advanced will be able to choose from IITs.

  • The initial step is to select the streams and institutes where the candidate wants to apply. Then the candidates will be required to arrange these choices in order of their preference, i.e. from most preferred to least preferred by using the ‘Arrange Filled Choices’ option.

  • Read your preferences carefully and use the ‘Choice Rearrange’ and ‘Choice Interchange’ to make changes to your list if needed. A ‘Multiple Deletion’ option is also provided to delete multiple choices.

  • Once you are certain about your preference list and the order that it follows, save the choices.

JoSAA Counselling 2020 Choice Locking

  • After you are done selecting and arranging your preferences you can either choose ‘I agree to lock my choices’ option or you can select ‘I will lock my choices later’ option.

  • IT is important to select the ‘I agree to lock my choices’ option before the last of choice filling and locking.

  • Take a print out of your preference list by entering your JEE Advanced/ JEE Main roll number and password respectively.

JoSAA Counselling 2020 Seat Allotment

  • JoSAA seat allotment 2020 is conducted online on the basis of the preference list submitted by students and the merit list prepared by the authorities.

  • Candidates who qualify the cut-off criteria set by JoSAA 2020 will be added to the JoSAA rank list 2020. The rank list and seat allocation information will be released online.

JoSAA Counselling Fee Payment 2020

  • If you have secured a seat through JoSAA counselling 2020, make sure that you download the provisional allotment letter along with the e-challan for the payment of seat acceptance fee.

  • Seat acceptance fee for general candidates is Rs. 35,000, whereas for SC, Gen-PwD, ST, OBC-NCL-PwD, ST-PwD and SC-PwD the fee will be Rs. 15,000 that can be paid either through e-challan or through SBI net banking.

  • This fee will be included in the semester fees once the student has confirmed admission.

JoSAA Reporting Centres 2020

  • Those candidates who have been allocated seats will have to report at the assigned reporting centres for verification of documents.

  • Candidates will have to carry all original mark sheets and other necessary documents at the time of verification. Those who fail to produce original documents will fail the verification round and their admission will be cancelled.

  • Candidates who have been allocated institutes other than NITs, IIITs and GFTI will have to report at the respective institute in order to confirm their admission by paying the remaining part of the first-semester fee.

  • Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details

  • Medical Certificate (in specified Format available on JoSAA-2020 format)

Yes, you can withdraw your seat in the last round of the JoSAA 2020 counselling process but not a single penny of your JoSAA counselling fee will be refunded back to you. It is thus advisable that you must withdraw your seat before the last round of the JoSAA counselling process.

The JoSAA counselling process is usually conducted in 6 to 7 rounds followed by an equal number of seat allotment rounds. As per the official notification, the JoSAA 2020 counselling process will have 6 rounds only.
