California State University - Sacramento, founded in 1947, is popularly known as the Sacramento State University. In 2004, the university re-branded as Sac State for short. It is a part of the California State University System, which comprises 23 public research universities in California State. Every year, students from across the globe get enrolled in various degree programmes making it the 2nd most diverse university in the Western U.S. Sacramento State also ranks among top U.S. colleges in Money Magazine.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The 300-acre campus of CSU Sacramento provides all the facilities and aids to its students. Engineering, Science & Technology and Liberal Art courses are the popular choices among all the Indian Students. The university offers 151 Bachelor courses and 69 Postgraduate Courses.
The academic staff of 1,771 allows the university to deliver the best education within the state to all students enrolled in bachelors and masters programmes. Over a period of time, the number of applications received by the university has seen a magnificent increase. Every year, Sac State enrols 750 International students from 80 countries among which around 160 students are from India.

Accomplishments & Alumni

Sacramento State is known to award and recognise its Alumni each year since 1972. The alumni who are associated with the university and mark a significant milestone in the field of education through their contribution to the university and the wider community are honoured by the university. In 2020, seven people achieved high levels of excellence in various fields. CSU Sacramento is consistently ranked among the best campuses and is named as one of the 'greenest' campuses in the world. The research work at the university is conducted in more than 30 research and community service centres on campus. It includes the Institute for Social Research, the Center for California Studies, the Center for Collaborative Policy, the Center for Small Business, and the Office of Water Programs.

Sacramento State Scholarships

Every year, the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office at Sacramento State spends $4M in the institutional scholarship opportunities. The scholarship is offered by various colleges, departments and organisations to students enrolled in either undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

A number of scholarships offered at Sac State and applicants need to just fill in a single application to be considered for the most suitable scholarship. The general eligibility criteria to receive the scholarship is as follows:

  • The student must be enrolled in full-time studies at the university.

  • Must have an outstanding GPA in the previous educational qualification.

  • Must demonstrate some extra skills and calibres.
