Founded in the year 1885 by the then Senator of California Leland Stanford with visionary inputs from his wife Mrs Jane Lathrope Stanford, Stanford University is a symbol of innovation where new discoveries and innovative ideas are a part of everyday life. COVID-19 Response

Stanford University has implemented an appropriate COVID-19 Response that ensures the safety and health of all students, staff and faculty at the university. Here are some of the measures taken by the university to curb the spread of the virus.

  • Stanford will continue to host most of its classes remotely, while only a few may be offered in-person.

  • Students can avail on-campus COVID-19 testing as part of the routine surveillance for those students who live on-campus accommodations.

  • All those visiting the campus will be asked to wear face-coverings. However, fully vaccinated people are not mandated to wear any type of face masks, except when partaking in crowded events where physical distancing may not be possible. Individuals are also required to wear face masks when indoors.

  • Stanford is currently following a phased recovery and restarting of on-campus activities. As conditions and vaccination programmes become more successful, more on-campus activities can be expected.
